Student Summer Jobs at Ontario Parks Details:

You will have to perform specific duties depending on the job.

  1. Gate Attendant: In this post, you need to  welcome coming visitors, issue permits and respond to several queries of customers.
  2. Maintenance Worker: As a maintenance worker, your duty will involve  providing services and ensuring whether parks are maintained, cleaned,etc.
  3. Park Store Clerk: You will be assisting in maintaining all the  park stores.
  4. Administrative Assistant: You will be assisting in clerical work and administration of the park.
  5. Discovery Ranger: You will be assisting in delivering various park educational programs.

Mandatory requirement:

  1. Student Status: You should be enrolled either in  secondary or post-secondary institutions of Canada.
  2. Age: Your age should not be less than 15 years of age. However, there is no maximum age limit.
  3. Residency: You should be a resident of Ontario.
  4. Work Status: You should be legally allowed to work in Canada.

Conditions for employment:

  1. You should have a valid Ontario G2 Driver’s Licence for certain positions.
  2. Some positions require you to acquire a Pleasure Craft Operator Card.
  3. Some positions require you to have certification in First Aid.
  4. Some specific positions include handling of money with care.
  5. You should be willing to work in shifts and weekends.
  6. You should be able to work in an outdoor environment.
  7. You will need specialized training for the Workplace hazardous materials information system.
  8. You need to be adept in utilizing the small machinery and equipment as well as use of lawn care tools.
