Provides nursing care, such as counseling, teaching, and coordinating the care (activities and leisure) of the residents.

Uses tools like a blood pressure cuff, glucometer, stethoscope, and ophthalmoscope to look at, measure, and write down the patient’s temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, serum glucose levels, weight, and neurological evaluations.
Gives Folstein Test for Cognitive Recognition mental state tests and figures out what the results mean.
Assesses the physical, emotional, and mental health of a resident or client by observing and analyzing tests and physical health indicators in order to review the care plan and figure out what changes may need to be made.
Helps the doctor do rounds by giving information about the health and progress of residents and clients and helping with exams by, for example, helping to position, dress, and undress residents and clients.

- The College of Nurses of Ontario has given her a current certificate of competence.
