DFO Oiler/Engine Room Assistant Jobs – Apply Now

Education Education:

The candidates have valid emergency duty certificate from the STCW basic safety systems. The certificate should be equivalent to the Canadian education benchmark standards.

experience Experience:

  • The applicants have advanced experience in marine departments, survival craft, rescue boat, The candidates who have valid transport passport in Canada can apply for this job only.
  • The candidates must be honest and love to work with the team.
  • Advanced knowledge of machinery department is required.
  • Experience as an Oiler/Engineer on a Coast Guard vessel

Skills Skills Competencies:

  • The candidates should have valid engine room assistant certificate that is accredited from valid transport Canada.
  • Ability to communicate orally and written.
  • Knowledge of language such as English, French.

Key Responsibilities Keys Responsibilities:

  • The candidates have patience to reside around the sea areas for for prolonged periods of time (including Arctic Waters) and in adverse weather conditions.
  • The applicants have need to wear and maintain a uniform, safety footwear, and personal protective equipment to Canadian Coast Guard standards.
  • For vessels assigned primarily to Search and Rescue operations, employees must be within 30 minutes response time to the vessel during assigned work period.
