Essential Qualification
  • Successful completion of post-secondary school diploma (includes community college, CEGEP, technical college, or recognized post-secondary institution related to the duties of the position (e.g. environmental sciences, chemistry, biology, environmental studies, police sciences, law, natural resource law enforcement, criminology).

EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in a compliance role conducting audits, inspections or investigations to ensure conformance with standards (guidelines, code of practice, written rules), laws, or regulations.

  • Experience in a professional capacity interacting with various stakeholders such as the public, industry or other government organizations (Federal, Provincial, Indigenous or Municipal).
  • Experience collecting and/or interpreting evidence, samples, or environmental data.

  • Experience in preparing written reports.

Various language requirements
  • Bilingual imperative CBC/CBC

  • Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB

  • English essential

  • French essential

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of inspection and investigation techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and its regulations, and the pollution prevention provisions of Fisheries Act and its regulations.
  • Knowledge of enforcement responses to non-compliance of CEPA 1999 and the Fisheries Act
