EDUCATION	Possession of a valid and current Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license, or other provincial equivalency, with air brake endorsement. Provision of a driver’s abstract, which is to show a minimum five (5) year driving record that is free of at-fault traffic accidents, convictions, suspensions and revocations. Substantial and extensive experience in the operation of commercial and heavy equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, salt trucks, and snowploughs.
EXPERIENCE	Experience in the operation of road graders or the ability to be trained to an acceptable level of proficiency in grader operation by Parks Canada.
Various language requirements	English essential Ability to perform general labour tasks as they relate to roads and grounds maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE	Exercises sound judgment. Takes responsibility. Strives for excellence Demonstrates integrity.
ABILITIES	Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe proficient manner.
PERSONAL SUITABILITY	Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required. Willingness to work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial holidays when required. Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, adverse weather conditions.
